Oracle has introduced a new AI-native builder experience for Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications, giving customers and partners the tools to build and run what the company is calling Fusion Agentic Applications — a new class of enterprise software that moves beyond recording transactions to actively driving and executing business outcomes.
A New Category: Fusion Agentic Applications
The distinction Oracle is drawing is pointed. Fusion Agentic Applications are not copilots bolted onto an existing interface, nor are they standalone automation scripts that pass data between disconnected systems. They are outcome-driven applications backed by teams of specialised AI agents that reason, coordinate, and make decisions — then execute that work directly through Fusion business objects, workflows, tools, policies, approvals, and logged actions.
Because they run natively inside Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, they inherit the full stack of Fusion's enterprise controls: security and governance policies, role-based access, approval chains, and the audit trails that regulated industries require. That combination — autonomous agent reasoning paired with enterprise-grade auditability — is the core proposition. - Low-code: Functional consultants and citizen developers work in guided visual environments that expose Fusion business objects and workflow connectors as configurable building blocks.
- Pro-code: Engineers and ISV partners use the new AI Studio Skill to build with Visual Studio Code, standard CLI tools, Git-based workflows, and AI coding agents — explicitly including Codex and Claude Code — allowing them to bring AI-assisted development directly into the Fusion build process.
The intent is to eliminate the boundary between the people who understand a business problem and the people who can build a system to solve it. A process owner can prototype an agentic workflow in natural language; an engineer can extend, test, and deploy it using professional tooling — all within the same governed framework.
